On the coast, traditional wooden shutters (škure) suffer from sun, salt and damp and need regular sanding, varnishing or repair. Made-to-measure pieces make sense in older Montenegrin flats with odd dimensions, sloping ceilings or alcoves where ready-made furniture doesn't fit.
